SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will perform the following tasks:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide billing support;
  • Process cash receipts and ensure proper application to accounts receivable;
  • Reconcile auxiliaries with the general ledger;
  • Provide accounts payable support;
  • Process and verify employee expense accounts according to internal policies;
  • Follow-up on commissions payable;
  • Perform bank reconciliations;
  • Perform credit card reconciliations, validate transactions and ensure accuracy;
  • Prepare tax returns (GST/QST) within required deadlines;
  • Make month-end provision entries;
  • Produce general ledger account analyses to support financial reporting;
  • Produce profitability analyses for project start-ups;
  • Provide monthly training expenses to Human Resources;
  • Participate in the preparation of year-end audit files;
  • Keep accounting files up to date;
  • Ensure physical and electronic filing of financial documents;
  • Provide general support to the department for various administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or college degree in accounting;
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector;
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP Business Central (an asset);
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, conscientiousness and thoroughness;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and identify situations requiring rapid intervention;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Analytical, organized and a strong team player;
  • Fluency in both spoken and written French and English to communicate with our U.S. head office staff.
